UK Activity Holidays
Active tourism is well-developed in the United Kingdom, and there are many bases where you can enjoy outdoor pursuits like walking (hiking) and climbing, as well as countless possibilities for organised active vacations.
In addition to sporting activities like hiking, canoeing, climbing, horse-riding and cycling, you will also find holidays dedicated to food, water-colour painting, traditional crafts, murder-mystery games, birdwatching, music and just about anything it's possible to do, learn, or watch.
If you're interested in making a difference to the environment, you may be interested in a working holiday organised by the National Trust, who are responsible for maintaining large tracts of Britain's most attractive landscape.
The YHA (Youth Hostels Association) run hostels around Britain's countryside and towns, and they offer a wide range of activity holidays, from mountaineering safety to discovering London.
